How to Recover your contacts for Samsung Galaxy S5

Steps to recover your saved contacts

Note: You can recover your contacts only if you've previously backed them up.
  • Display options
    Be sure all of your contacts are visible.
    1. From the home screen, tap Contacts.
    2. Tap the Menu icon.
    3. Tap Settings.
    4. Tap Contacts.
    5. Tap Contacts to display.
    6. Tap All contacts.
  • Memory card
    If you saved your contacts to the memory card on either your Samsung Galaxy S5 or a previous device, you can recover your contacts.
    1. From the home screen, tap Contacts.
    2. Tap the Menu icon.
    3. Tap Settings.
    4. Tap Contacts.
    5. Tap Import/Export.
    6. Tap Import from SD card.
    7. Tap the location where you want to save your contacts.
    8. Your phone automatically searches for contact (vCard) files on the memory card. If the search returns more than one contact file, tap your preferred option and tap OK.

  • If you've saved your contacts to your Google account, you can restore them to your phone.
    1. From the home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Tap Accounts.
    4. Tap Add account.
    5. Tap Google.
    6. Tap Existing.
    7. Enter your Google account credentials and then tap the Next arrow.
    8. Tap to check or uncheck your preferred sync options.
    9. Tap the Next arrow.
