Here is some good news for you.Mozilla has recently created an application launcher for Android devices.This unique launcher allows you to customize your home screen.As you already know Mozilla's Firefox is one of the leading web browser available on various platforms such as Windows, Linux, Android.Today mozilla unveils this new app launcher that gives totally different feel to your Android.
A Look of new Launcher App for Android by Mozilla
Mozilla in partnership with Israel company EverythingMe(a maker of its own app launcher) develop this new app launcher.The speciality of this new launcher is that its unique effects and totally customized web surfing and application handling.This new launcher working is inherited from existing Launcher of EverthingMe.
Mozilla writes on their blog about launcher as,"The app integrates the contextual adaptive app search from EverythingMe with the Firefox for Android Web browser to offer users a personalized and customizable Web experience that is fun and intuitive"
This app launcher collects the data about uses of android applications.Based on that collection its prediction feature predicts the most frequently used four applications and placed it on the launcher.It also has feature of smart folders that contains the group of similar application by user interest.For ex.The smart folder "Internet" contains the applications like various internet browsers, streaming softwares, torrent downloaders etc.Also Firefox Launcher for Android makes it easy to discover the content you want in any moment and is optimized for the way you use your phone.
Coming to screenshot posted on Mozilla's press release, It clears that launcher will run on Jelly bean version.At its front, they included one search bar along with voice search feature (prebuilt by Google).We can see 5 different smart folders as Social, Games, Music, Shopping, Movies and Mom . Social smart folder contains android applications related to social media, Games folder loaded with Gaming Applications,Music folder loads all your installed music players along with your playlist, Shopping folder will launch the installed shopping apps like Amazon, EBay , All your favourite movies are covered by Movies Smart Folder and Mom is one custom created smart folder.
At the moment, General users will have to wait a while for the Launcher to be released, since development on the app has not yet been finished. Mozilla will share more details on the launcher once it is closer to beta. At this point, the beta release and official launch date are unknown.
