The buzzing Google Nexus Smartphones are reported as a vulnerable to denial of service attacks, A specially designed SMS in such way that could potentially turn it unresponsiveness of smartphone's mobile network-PC world reported.
By Sending a special sms to nexus devices, The phone is forced to reboot itself within some time and reconnect to mobile network.All the process is done unknown to its owner.It is useless for some instance of time without knowing the user.By sending bulk Flash SMS messages, sometimes referred to as Type 0 SMS, the device forces itself to shut down. Upon relaunch, the device may need to reconnect to mobile data connectivity via unlocking the SIM Card. If a PIN is required to unlock the SIM card, and the user is unaware, the device is left dormant until the SIM is unlocked. During the downtime, the phone can’t make or receive calls, messages, or access any data service via a mobile connection.
The bug, affecting all Android 4.x firmware versions on Google Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, and Nexus 5, was discovered by Bogdan Alecu who is a security researcher, who says that the problem occurs when the messages aren’t properly dismissed. This means that the attacks can be avoided even if you were getting these types of flash messages, so long as you dismiss them right away. However doing so would require you to pretty much be on top of your phone constantly which isn’t realistic.
