Note: You can recover your contacts only if you've previously backed them up.
- Display optionsBe sure all of your contacts are visible.
- From the home screen, tap Contacts.
- Tap the Menu icon.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Contacts.
- Tap Contacts to display.
- Tap All contacts.
- Memory cardIf you saved your contacts to the memory card on either your Samsung Galaxy S5 or a previous device, you can recover your contacts.
- From the home screen, tap Contacts.
- Tap the Menu icon.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Contacts.
- Tap Import/Export.
- Tap Import from SD card.
- Tap the location where you want to save your contacts.
- Your phone automatically searches for contact (vCard) files on the memory card. If the search returns more than one contact file, tap your preferred option and tap OK.
Google - If you've saved your contacts to your Google account, you can restore them to your phone.
- From the home screen, tap Apps.
- Scroll to and tap Settings.
- Tap Accounts.
- Tap Add account.
- Tap Google.
- Tap Existing.
- Enter your Google account credentials and then tap the Next arrow.
- Tap to check or uncheck your preferred sync options.
- Tap the Next arrow.
