We believe so,
whether insider tip or not, it just makes sense. Although Google is yet to
launch a 64 bit operating system which should be quite plenty for a smart phone
device today, and why would we need a 128 bit operating system? The fact
of the matter is the smart phone industry is moving ahead with the speed of light.
Our smart phones get redesigned every year, and manufactures compete to produce
the best devices possible.
Smart Phone Evolution
I remember
when I first got my Samsung Galaxy S2 back in 2011, and it was one of best
smart phones at that time. Now 3 years later, the fifth generation of this
phone is packed with some heavy hardware, and yet a much better Android
Operating System (KitKat). Every time we
upgrade our phone, we instantly think about its next generation, how much Ram
will it have, will it come stocked with 32GB or more of internal storage, will
it come with x-Megapixel camera, etc. This is perfectly natural now, because it has
become a trend. I know some people that upgrade their smart phones every year. But the redesign of the smart phones is not
only on the hardware side, but also in the operating system that powers these
devices.
Google not only needs to keep up with the pressure from Apple, but it
also needs to accommodate the demand for the millions of Android devices around
the world each year, and the number is growing. And we believe Google is the
right company to design and develop the Android Operating System. Knowing that Google is powering millions of
Android devices in our pockets, it makes perfect sense for Google to be secretly
working on a 128 bit Android Operating System. The Android enabled devices and the Android
Operating System are coupled together, and one cannot advance without the
other.
Google spends millions of dollars on marketing and creative ideas,
and it always challenges its employees and consultants to come up with creative
solutions. Google thinks smart to stay
on top and ahead of competition. It will
not be surprising to see Google moving in other areas of technology to compete
directly with the giants like Microsoft for the Personal Computer operating system.
In fact a 128 bit operating system (PcDroid) for the PC would not be a bad idea. Given Google’s power and ambitions this idea
cannot be ruled out. At least here at the TechDigit, we are very Googlestic,
and the 128 bit Android Operating system
could be powering our devices in the next 2-3 years.
